hmm, she actually takes outs into account, but I guess this hasn’t helped her to be any harder to beat..
it seems like I’ve made a lot of changes behind the scenes, but, from the front of the stage everything looks the same!

hmm, well if it’s started to account for outs then I’d have to say that it’s still putting too much importance on the rank of the card. She is to hanging on to face cards when she misses the board and still plays it like she has the nuts. Maybe have to consider the chance of the opponent hitting the board into it calculation.
For example, she has AK but misses the flop (say a dry board, no flush draw, straight draw, or set possible). True she has 6 outs (3 Aces + 3 Kings) but the there are 9 outs that would have the other players to be ahead of her. That’s also not considering discounted outs either which lower the chances as well.
I think another difficulty with making a good AI for this is that we are just playing limit holdem and it’s hard to seem threatening when the most you can only do a min reraise (that and knowing we can skate with any pair with good results makes bets/raises not as threatening).
I was wondering. Would it be possible to have the models move in a loop while your playing them? Kind of like the virtual girls in the add at the top of the page?
@Ironvein – that’s some good food for thought there – I will give some of that a try as soon as I can.
The limit holdem thing is a problem – but I went for this, rather than no-limit or pot-limit, to stop people just playing like total maniacs in order to trigger a fold (since they have nothing to lose – they can always just reload the game). Of course, people will still be doing that anyway, but at least it can’t get them as far as it would with NL or PL..

I agree with poker-newb. Dommino definitely plays an overly caustious stlye of poker by folding until she gets the cards she wants.
I also agree with Ironvein. She overvalues the face cards. For example, the last round I beat her with a pair; she had an Ace & Queen.
Another time we both had a flush and she beat me with a King kicker; my highest card was a Queen.
I would have to say that my most interesting round was when we split the pot; we both had two pairs with an Ace kicker.
Although her overly cautious style of game play is predictable, the one advantage of the cautious stlye is that it is more difficult to bluff the people who use this stlye.

She likes to call even when you are the dealer giving you chance to watch the first carfds. Pretty predictable but it took me 30mins to undress her. The last hand saw us level at 750 a piece and I just started raising like hell with nothing in hand, luckily the river gave me a flush and I beat her.
